About C.L. Stegall
C.L. Stegall is a multi-genre fiction author who writes stories where nobody is simply wrong. His fiction — spanning urban fantasy, psychological thriller, and literary — is built on the conviction that the most interesting conflicts are the ones where the opposing side has a real argument, where extraordinary ability isolates more than it empowers, and where loyalty means something because it was chosen under pressure, not assigned by circumstance. He doesn't write clean moral universes. He writes the ones that look like the one we actually live in.
He is the author of The Valensi Chronicles — a three-book urban fantasy series following ancient, morally complicated beings navigating survival, identity, and the weight of centuries — and The New Scions, a complete trilogy reimagining Greek mythology as tragedy dressed in modern clothes. His psychological thriller serial WARLOCKS launches publicly on July 1, 2026. Before writing fiction full-time, he spent nearly six years as President and Senior Editor of Dark Red Press, and a decade before that as a U.S. Army Spanish linguist with Military Intelligence — both of which left him with a world-builder's eye for detail and a permanent suspicion of anyone who seems too certain they're right.
He lives in Texas with his irrepressible wife of more than twenty-five years, Mona, and their cat Shoyu. Most likely in his office, working on the next chapter of something nobody sees coming.
