Kimberly Severed – Song Release

Getting things going in the new year, here is the first official release from Division Bridge (read more about this project here).

I wrote this song from the perspective of someone who has lost that one person who kept them sane. The results of said loss is more than evident in the emotional damage related by the song. (It’s a banger, really!)

LYRICS:

Here I take my pills
And watch the lights go down
I have no reason
For the things I do now

I hold to my dreams
Like Death to his pale horse
I sweat out my sins
Behind soft and locked doors

OH, I SPEND MY DAYS
WITH A PILL OR SEVEN…
HOLDING TIGHT THE TIES
THAT KIMBERLY SEVERED

I SIGH IN ANGER
AT THE PAIN OF FOREVER…
HOLDING TIGHT THE TIES
THAT KIMBERLY SEVERED

I have my crayons
To write my thoughts down
My letters to her
Piled up in my corner

I hold to my screams
Like loose life lines
My memories of her
Tormenting my mind

OH, I SPEND MY DAYS
WITH A PILL OR SEVEN…
HOLDING TIGHT THE TIES
THAT KIMBERLY SEVERED

I HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE
OF NOW OR FOREVER
HOLDING TIGHT THE TIES
THAT KIMBERLY SEVERED

I fall on my knees
Praying to no clear god
And before I sleep
Pound my head into the walls

My pillow holds cries
Unheard in hellish nights
My hands are bleeding
From holding nothing tight

OH, I SPEND MY DAYS
WITH A PILL OR SEVEN…
HOLDING TIGHT THE TIES
THAT KIMBERLY SEVERED

I SIGH IN ANGER
AT THE PAIN OF FOREVER…
HOLDING TIGHT THE TIES
THAT KIMBERLY SEVERED

AND I SPEND MY NIGHTS
IN A HELL LIKE HEAVEN…
HOLDING TIGHT THE TIES
THAT KIMBERLY SEVERED

…That Kimberly severed…
